P.E.A.C.E. was founded in January 2019 by Sarien and Hugo Slabbert after the former’s involvement with two rescues, respectively in October 2018 and December 2018.
They realized there was a huge need in British Columbia, Canada, for a rescue organization specializing in farmed animal rescue, and that was how P.E.A.C.E. started.
Since 2019 the charity’s P.E.A.C.E. Rescue program, which focuses on farmed animal rescue, has expanded from British Columbia to include all of Western Canada.
As a support organization, P.E.A.C.E. works with farm sanctuaries and organizations across North America through resources and education since inception.
P.E.A.C.E. Farm Sanctuary is a rooster microsanctuary established in 2022 in Mission, BC.
